Judges

The awards will be judged by a panel of industry leaders and experts. The judging is a rigorous two stage process including pre-scoring to determine shortlists and a judging meeting where entries are discussed and evaluated in detail to decide the winning entries.

From a transparency perspective, we may video aspects of the judging session to show on the evening and to give entrants an insight into why our winners were chosen.

Guy Corbet

My own business experience includes launching, managing and marketing some of the leading PR agencies of our time.

He is focused on providing clients with detailed intelligence and facts based on data that will improve media effectiveness and providing brands with true scalable media growth models.

In his earlier career Mark was a pro-golfer and so enjoys spending what free time he has either perfecting his handicap or with his young family.

Arianne Donoghue

Having started off her digital career client side over a decade ago, Arianne has worked for both agencies and brands in-house, specialising in all things paid search. She is now back agency side supporting on biddable media digital strategy. A regular on the conference scene, she’s also an editor and contributor at popular site State of Digital.

Sam Jones

Sam is an inspiring and passionate sales & marketing professional with over 10 years of experience leading hotel sales & marketing teams to achieve business growth and professional growth. With experience in the London and Dubai markets, Sam has worked across all major business segments, and an expert in corporate, leisure and groups in Middle East, European and US source markets.

Sam realised his passion for hospitality (and coffee) at the age of 16 as a part-time Barista in Sydney and enrolled to study Hotel Management. Sam joined the W Hotel, Sydney as Welcome Ambassador/Guest Service Agent while completing his studies. In 2007, with a new found desire to see the world, Sam moved to London in 2007 and joined the Starwood Central London Complex in the reservations team. Over the next 7 years Sam worked in a number of sales roles with a responsibility to sell the Le Méridien, Sheraton, Luxury Collection brands and being part of the opening team for W London Leicester Square and Aloft London Excel in 2011. In the later years, he worked on developing the Luxury Leisure and Middle East market for the W London, Leicester Square and The Park Tower Knightsbridge.

In 2013 he joined Sheraton Heathrow as Director of Sales, working through a major rooms renovation and re-launch of this hotel as a significant groups and corporate player in the Heathrow Market. In 2016 he moved to Dubai to join Le Méridien Dubai Complex. Sam has lead the Le Méridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Centre and Le Méridien Fairway through the consolidation of their corporate business, and implementing a team structure to support the significant catering and groups contribution required for hotels future success while creating a standalone Catering Brand “Events Hub by Le Meridien Dubai” to drive accelerated messaging for catering. In 2017, Le Méridien Dubai achieved a 6% RGI index growth, with a 10% catering revenue growth.

In October 2018, Sam returned to London to lead the Sales & Marketing team at the iconic St Pancras Renaissance Hotel. In such a vibrant, dynamic area of Kings Cross / St Pancras he is constantly looking for exciting activations with his team and working with local partners to advance the exposure of the area and enhance the guest experience. Sam has recently worked on the re-launch of The Hansom at St Pancras Renaissance as a destination cocktail bar in the heart of Kings Cross.

Luis Lacerda

Luis has been involved in a wide range of corporate and startup marketing environments across the UK, Spain and Portugal, leading currently the marketing team and its efforts at HelloFresh UK. Having started his career in Portugal as a consultant for Deloitte, Luis further pursued his career in a leading digital agency, working with brands like Coca-Cola, Nestea, Powerade, amongst others. Ten years ago Luis moved from Portugal to the UK where he has since been involved in the marketing fronts of four international, disruptive and different-sized startups, within industries ranging from holidays-rentals (HomeAway and HouseTrip) to on-demand services (Urban), and in-home deliveries (Glue Home).

Robert McClements MBA FRSA

PRESIDENT | CREATIVE DIGITAL INDUSTRIES (CDI) |

Robert is President of Creative Digital Industries (CDi) www.creativedigital.org.uk which he established as a Special Interest Group of the BPIF. It is a focal point for an 800-strong network ranging through brand owners, agencies and independent designers and printers in the marketing communications chain. The network’s annual Visual Media Conference www.visualmediaconference.com attracts international speakers and delegates and addresses the current case studies and future-scoping of the emerging technologies and strategies.

Robert’s marketing career began in advertising and moved rapidly into corporate identity where he became managing director of two small subsidiary companies in Allied Domecq working with the likes of McColl and Conran. Intent on providing a full-service proposition he established printing and point-of-sale manufacturing facility that counted Guinness and Mercedes among its client list.

Following an MBA that led to him to becoming a director of the Bradford Management Centre he franchised its programmes in the Middle East and ran the BBC Executive Programmes.

Robert has a portfolio of clients who he advises as a non-executive director in strategic development, succession planning and leadership. He is a wind-surfer and in his spare time once took part in the classic car rally from Peking to Paris – but that’s another story.

He is a Freeman of the City of London and Liveryman of the Stationers’ Company.

 

Steve Miller

The PRCA is the world's largest PR professional body, representing well over 30,000 practitioners. Operating in 66 countries around the world, the PRCA has offices in the UK, Singapore, and Dubai. It also manages ICCO, the umbrella body for 41 PR associations around the world.

Alongside managing the membership and business services team at the PRCA, Steve also oversees membership recruitment and retention. He also manages the PRCA Partnership Programme.

Prior to working in PR and Communications industry, Steve worked in the digital sector with IAB UK and then IAB Europe. He has previously held senior marketing roles with FontWorks, NetNames and Virtual Internet.

LUIS NAVARRETE GOMEZ

Luke Toyne

Since Luke’s first job as producer in 2001 (the first music promo to be shot in HD) he has built up extensive experience across live action, post-production, VFX and CGI specialising in brand films and TV commercials for the likes of Asda, AstraZeneca, Daily Mail and Gaggenau.

As Maker’s Executive Producer he works with agencies and brands to create cinematic, results-focussed, short-form films. Established in Manchester in 2003, Luke joined to lead the production company’s London expansion in 2015 and in 2018 their work won eleven awards including a Cannes Lion, two Clio Awards and a Drum Marketing Award. They have just been selected for Creative England's CE50 - the country's most exciting, innovative and disruptive creative companies.

Nancy Twynam

Nancy is a UK Board member of BBC Studios, the commercial arm of the BBC which combines the UK’s most-awarded production company and world-class distribution as an unrivalled creator of – and investor in – UK programmes reaching audiences around the world. 

As UK Brand & Marketing Director Nancy is responsible for developing and driving the brand marketing strategy for BBC Studios UK region businesses which include TV Sales, Consumer Products (Home Entertainment, Publishing, Books & Audio, Gaming, Licensing) and Live Entertainment. Nancy plays a key role in maximising the growth and commercial potential of key brands and programmes in the UK including Doctor Who, Top Gear, Strictly Come Dancing, BBC Earth brands and Children’s brands including Hey Duggee, Go Jetters and CBeebies Masterbrand.

Nancy has worked for the BBC for in various brand and marketing roles for twelve years and has previously worked in the music industry for Warner Music working on campaigns for artists including The Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Streets & Madonna.

Jim Warren

He previously lead customer acquisition during fast growth periods at notonthehighstreet.com and ACHICA before joining Bloom & Wild in 2015 to lead marketing. Bloom & Wild aim to make the giving and receiving of flowers the joy it should be, operating in the UK and Ireland and more recently in Germany and France.
